4th dimensional rocketship

tonight, i got the most specific and bizaare compliment from a crazy ex-hells angels biker lady from alaska: "You have a nice nose."

from just that text, it would seem that she was making some sort of underhanded compliment, but, if you could see the way this lady was looking at me, staring at me for minutes at a time while i pretended to watch the television, people playing pool or just the boxes of pull-tabs(for those out of the loop, mostly just californians, its a form of charitable gambling where you purchase a card with three tabs that, once pulled, reveal a form of tic tac toe with specifiic characters unique to that games theme, which then denote winners of $2 through $500, with a series of lines through combinations of said characters), you would have seen this sort of deranged, almost frightening attraction she felt towards me.

it was really uncomfortable, mostly because I find it hard to ignore people when I know they want my attention, but partly because she was less than 2 feet from me. and staring me in the face. almost head on. it was weird.

1. I am completely addicted to biscuits and gravy. Its like crack, heroin and video games all rolled in one to me.

4. When I was 8, I was in a Christmas play at a nearby college where I sang "All I Want For Christmas is My Two Front Teeth" with two missing front teeth. Yes. I was that kid. I lost my my grill in a tragic face-to-piano leg accidedent when i was 3. I never actually got front teeth until I was nearly 11.

5. The first time I ever broke my parents rule of not riding my bicycle into the city, I got hit by a car as a drunk pulled out of the bar. He wrecked my bike and I got nasty road rash all over my legs and arms. I even chipped a tooth. He sped away. I was so scared that my parents would find out I broke their rule, I jumped on my bike and rode away as best I could with a nearly taco-ed tire, never mentioning it to them, and lying about the cause of my injuries and the condition of my ride. Dude was lucky. I could have gotten him into serious trouble( he pulled out of the parking lot of the bar my dad was General Manager. In fact he was probably inside at the time of the accident).

6. Ive smoked cigarettes since I was 12, but have never managed to get myself addicted to nicotine. Im impervious.

7. The first day I recieved my drivers license, I was in a car accident.

8. There was a time in my life when I was determined to become a professional skateboarder. Then I saw the Toy Machine video, “Welcome To Hell”, and completely lost hope. That video was so revolutionary in the sheer insanity of the hugeness of the tricks they pulled, that I knew I would never be able to reach that level. That’s when I decided Id become a photographer, instead.
